Nobody could deny the impact that a great memory has on improving your IQ test score. Drink some Coffee
Caffeine is probably the most well-known and widely imbibed cognitive boosters in the world, and a cup of joe is – as everyone knows – the quickest way to get your brain in gear. Remember to drink coffee in moderation, however, as too much will cause anxiety, which quickly disrupts focus.
Minimise Your Stress Levels
Stress has an interesting effect on memory. On the one hand, we’re highly likely to be able to remember stressful encounters for a very long time, as they form a considerable aspect of your long-term memory. On the other, trying to commit things to memory while under stress or duress is difficult: stress interrupts our cognitive function, and can block data storage in the brain.
Try Some Aromatherapy
Although the jury is still out on this particular topic, many believe (and many scientific studies have supported the belief) that some aromas help with memory function. Top of the list are rosemary and peppermint, so consider burning some rosemary oil and drinking mint tea while studying for your IQ test!
Maintain Memory Function with Diet
We are what we eat, or at least the saying goes as such. Nutritional scientists have identified plenty of brain-friendly foods, from blueberries to oily fish, which have been shown to help with memory function, especially in old age. An Omega-3 rich diet, for instance, is said to be particularly beneficial.
